Bass-Jons

Bass-Jons' fished Lake Meade for their 7th event of the season.  Sixteen boats showed up to fish on a blue-bird day with temperatures rising to over 80 degrees along with a little breeze to keep it bearable.  Lake Meade fished tough for many anglers, with only 5 of the 16 boats bringing in five-fish limits.  Anglers reported catching fish in a variety of ways, including senkos, trick worms, shakey heads, and even a few off the beds.  Anglers reported an early bite that died out during the middle of the day, but then picked back up in the afternoon.

Congratulations to Luther Showaker and Greg Thompson for bringing in the winning bag at 13 lbs 8 oz.  Their bag included a nice 4 lb 14 oz kicker and a few other good fish, many of which came in the last hour of fishing on senkos.  Second place went to Moose Wells and Adrian Wells at 12 lbs even.  Their 4 fish bag came from bed fishing.  Third went to Victor and Aida Lopez with 11 lbs 12 oz, and the tournament big fish was caught by Joe and Tony Huggins with a 5 lb 10 oz hawg.

Mike Peregrine climbed back atop the Angler of the Year race with his finish at Lake Meade.  He is followed closely by Moose Wells and Chaz Carrington, who are 1 and 2 points behind respectively.  The race is close and is sure to be decided by who can catch fish in the tough summer months.  Marion Martin took over the Co-AOY race with his 4th place finish at Meade, and Michael Taylor holds the Jr. AOY lead.
