Bass-Jons

12 Teams fished the 13th Bass-Jons tournament this season, which took place at Lake Cohoon.  Mild weather for August made for a pleasant day on the lake.  There was some rain in the afternoon, but it was nothing that would cause anyone to stop fishing.  Surface water temps were down from the low 90s over the last week, starting at about 78 in the morning and elevating to 88 by the end of the day.  Members were given the option to fish either Lake Meade or Lake Cohoon due to the low water and resulting ramp conditions.  Four teams opted for Meade and the rest tried their luck at Cohoon.  Those that fished Cohoon made the right decision... the top spots all fished Cohoon.  Luther pulled off another win for the year and moved up to 5th place in the Angler of the Year standings.  Rick Burton's 3rd place finish put him in first place with Mike Peregrine, Chaz Carrington, and Carlton "Moose" Wells all within 6 points of the top spot. Aida Lopez maintained the top place in the co-angler race and Mike Taylor is holding steady leading the Junior Anglers.
 
The Bass'n-9 club vs. Club tournament is coming up on Sunday, August 21st at Lake Prince.  Rule-9 is hosting this year, as Bass-Jons looks to defend their victory in 2010.  Since its inception in 2004, Bass-Jons leads the series 5-2.  For Bass-Jons, this is a regular draw, partner, and AOY points tournament this season.  Members should get their intents in early.
