Six boats and ten anglers fished the Blackwater River from Joyners Bridge today. The day started out cold with temps in the low 30's and warming up to the low 50's, with light to no wind and a moderate current. All boats were able to bring in 5 fish limits with most boats reporting catching double digit numbers of fish. First place went to the team of Mike Peregrine and Victor Lopez who came in with 9 pounds. 2nd place went to Romel Soriano (who gave us a lesson on bearing replacement after the tourney) with 8.02 lbs and tourney big fish of 3.04. The small fish pot was a tie between Josh Adkisson and the team of Walt Degraff and Jim Carlson. The winning team reported catching fish on spinnerbaits and creature baits, with most people also reporting fish on jigs, senkos, crankbaits, and a mixed bag of plastics. Overall everyone enjoyed fishing some new water.
The next Bass-Jons Winter Series tournament is December 10th, and is a Suffolk Lake draw.
