4 boats and 8 anglers came out to the 5th Winter Series tournament this past Saturday. Western Branch was drawn, to the collective dismay of the fishermen. The dismay continued on the water for everyone but Larry King and Brandon Franze. Larry backed up his Super Singles win from last weekend with a Winter Series win. His 3-fish sack weighed 11.11, and despite a 3 pound penalty for arriving to weigh in 6 minutes late, he won both the tournament and big fish(4.13) with ease. 2nd place went to Mike Peregrine and Victor Lopez, who had one bass for 2.06 lbs and were able to hold 2nd place over Rick and Luther despite another late weigh in penalty of 1.5 lbs. Luther and Rick had the small fish of the day with what was probably the biggest 5 oz fish in the whole lake. Fish were reported as being caught on crankbaits, alabama rigged grubs, and jerk baits.
Mike Peregrine/Victor Lopez 1 fish 2.06 total .14(1.5 lb penalty)
Luther Showaker/Rick Burton 1 fish .05
Walt Degraf/Adam Bach 0 fish
