Certificate Information
The 1st Boot'Legg Event was the only event where we provided Boot'Legg Certificates. We will be reprinting those Certificates for the 1st thru 3rd Places and Big Fish; as well as providing Certificates for the Little Creek and Beaver Dam Events for this month. These Certificates are provided to those Anglers who placed in the Money. The Boot'Legg Trail had decided to provide this to the Anglers because not many of us can honestly remember all of the Tournaments that we have won or placed well in throughout the years. So this is something that the Boot'Legg Trail wanted to provide as a bonus to winning for Anglers to add to their "I Love Me," Wall of Fame.

Little Creek Reservoir | 10 April 2004
| The Boot'Legg Trail held their 2nd event on Little Creek Reservoir. Due to unforeseen circumstances, there was a schedule conflict between Little Creek Angler's and the Boot'Legg Open Trail, which had to be worked out during the week. Needless to say, everything worked out smoothly and there were no conflicts during the launching, weighing and recovering; thanks to the Little Creek Recreational Staff. Saying that the fishing was tough on this lake during this event is an understatement. It was like fishing in a gravel pit with a limited number of fish; like NONE!!! There was no particular pattern, except for a couple of teams that found a few bedding fish on the lake. Even then, those fish were so scary that they weren't easy to catch. The only thing that could have been done on this day was to continue casting, keep a lure in the water and hope that you don't run out of battery power. Unfortunately for most Anglers, to include the Little Creek Anglers Club Tournament, not many Anglers caught fish. The Boot'Legg Event only yielded 7 total fish that weighed in at 16.70lbs. Here is how the Top Angler's faired...
Thanks for showing up on such a tough day and we will see you all at the next Tournament Event to be held on Beaver Dam Swamp Reservoir April 24th 2004.

Beaver Dam Swamp Reservoir | 24 April 2004
|
The 3rd scheduled Boot'Legg Event was held out on Beaver Dam Swamp and turned out great. From what was told, some Anglers had their fill with numbers of fish caught on this day, while others struggled. Beaver Dam, for whatever reason, is well behind other Peninsula Lakes as far as the spawn goes. The water temps are warm enough for the Buck Bass to have their beds made, yet not quite ready for the Sows to start dropping eggs. It still seems like the water is trying to turn over, but it's not quite there yet. This time of year can be frustrating if Anglers don't understand how and where the bass migrate. However, there were still fish to be found on beds for those who were sight fishing, but not many to be expected. Some Anglers took advantage of the spawn, while others fished for those bass still in their staging mode. The Top 3 Angler patterns were fishing slow and patiently. Taking advantage of the fish that have moved up into the shallows to spawn. The lures of choice were finesse worms and jigs. The event brought in 44 fish with a total weight of 90.93lbs and here is how the Top Anglers placed...
Our next Boot'Legg Tournament will be held on Waller Mill Reservoir out in the Williamsburg area on May 8th 2004. Because of the limited parking and the size of the facility, the Boot'Legg Trail is limited to only 35 boats on this lake. There's no reason to pre-register, just show up and find one of the Tournament Director's with a Boot'Legg T-Shirt on, pay your Entry Fee (and/or Optional Big Fish) and Sign-In. We will be launching as soon as the Facility opens. As soon as all the boats are signed in and in the water, we will provide the Anglers with a short briefing and then BLAST OFF!!! We always allow at least 8 hours of fishing; 9 hours if time permits. Remember...100% PAYOUT...Our Motto with the Boot'Legg Trail, "All we wanna do is fish!!!"
