White caps and high winds greeted Bass Jons Club Anglers today on Lake Smith which limited anglers from accessing some of the more productive areas of the lake. Boat handling was a chore no matter where anglers were on the lake; even worse, the main lake area was blasted with high winds making it merely impossible to fish. The cold front that moved in the last two days had its effect on the fishing; water temps actually went down from a week prior. Water Temps were at 52-degrees when the tournament started and only got up to 55-degrees by days end. Because it was so cold and windy, it made it hard to fish. Only one angler managed a 5 fish limit. There was only one report where an angler was able to catch a fish off of a bed, the rest were either brought in with Senkos, Jig & Pig and/or some sort of down sized plastic. Of the 14 boats that came out, only 10 were able to bring in fish to weigh in. Below are the Bass Jons Tournament Results for the entire field...
