What started off as being a day the weatherman said would have rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon turned out to be just fine. The wind was still present, however so were the bass. There were 18 Teams that showed on the day, which is the largest Bass Jons field this year. All that can be said is, Western Branch, “It’s On!!!” A lot of fish were taken in with Senko’s, Jig’N Pigs, Tubes and a variety of soft plastics. Surprisingly, 1 team managed to catch all of their fish on Suspending Crankbaits, targeting fish that are still in somewhat of a transition. The Lunker of the Day went to the team of Steve Loveless & Rob Brewer, going 6lbs 6oz. They only brought in 4 fish, but they were some chunks that totaled 17lbs 12oz. That was good enough for a Bass Jons 4th Place finish; tied with Jim Carlson who fished solo on the day. The tournament yielded about 235lbs, which is the largest known in the area for a 1-Day Event this year. The fish weighed in had an average of 3.5lbs per fish. Also, 4 fish went at least 6lbs or better, about 10 fish ranged between 5- to 6lbs and several 4lbers to boot. Below are the Bass Jons Tournament Results for the entire field...
