| Could it have gotten any hotter?! Last Boot’Legg Tournament winner, Lenny Shane, drew Burnt Mills this morning. For a summer event, the turnout wasn’t too bad; 16 teams showing up to fish (27 Anglers). This was enough to create 4 payouts, not to include the Big Fish Pot. All the anglers fishing today struggled to catch any bass, but there were several reports of anglers catching a lot of trash fish; mostly Pickerel and Bowfin. The primary technique and pattern for the day was to pace yourself, keep hydrated and fish slow. Most of the anglers were fishing Texas Rigged plastics in various sizes to get there catches, with not much else working. Probably the hottest angler on the Peninsula, Matt Whitwell, took 1st Place of which he was also teamed up with Matt McKinney. Coming in 2nd Place is probably the next hottest team out there right now, that being Drew Brown & Wayne Garrett. They also took Big Fish Honors as well. Fishing solo as usual, Lenny Shane took 3rd Place followed by Gary Kinsey in 4th Place, who also fished solo today. Rounding out the 5th spot was the team of Charles Golf & Dallas “Bubba” Eure. There were 3 limits brought in with a total of 41 fish; much better than the previous tournament. Below are your Top 10 finishers.
