Tournament Report

The weather was better than predicted; a bit warm, but at least it didn’t rain. Although our last tournament winner was Drew Brown & Wayne Garrett, the lake was drawn by Lenny Shane today, of which he drew Lake Prince. For this event, the Trail drew 15 teams (26 Anglers). This was 1 boat short of 4 payouts, but the highest payout possible for 3 places.

None of the anglers really had trouble catching fish, however, catching fish over 12” was a problem. There was probably a 100 fish or so caught, but they were all shorts. There really wasn’t a primary pattern, but the main fishing technique from what was heard was fishing finesse worms, smaller 4” worms and senko’s. There weren’t many reports of anglers catching fish on Topwater and most of those were shorts.

Two well known anglers on the Southside, Tim Langdon & Todd Thompson took 1st Place with just over 11lbs of fish. Following in 2nd Place were John “Rebel” Plyler & Jerry Patterson. Boot’Legg own, James Williams & Gene North were in 3rd Place. The 4th Place team was that of Orece & Neal Robinson, followed by Corey Hamilton & Jason Sawyer. The tournaments Big Fish Honors went to Parish Malone.

There were only 4 limits brought to the scales and they happened to be the ones that placed in the Top 4 spots. Also, there were only 31 fish weighed; there were more fish caught, however anglers decided not to weigh them in. Below are the Tournament Results.
