It rained quite of bit during the event and when it wasn’t raining, it pretty much stayed cloudy. Fortunately, the air temps were nice. Many of the anglers evidently didn’t check the weather forecast before heading out for the tournament seeing that over half the club failed to bring their rain gear; leaving quite a few wet anglers out on Diascund, but that didn’t seem to stop them from catching fish. Three totally different patterns today brought home the cash; Topwater Pop-Rs & Ricos, small finesse worms and Senkos & Flukes. Several limits were brought to the scales today with Sam North & Russ Hall having the largest sack allowing them to take 1st Place with a healthy 16lbs. They reported catching their fish on Pop-R’s all day long. “We didn’t catch many fish, but when we did catch one it was at least 3lbs or better” according to Sam North. Our 2nd Place finishers were Gary Tate & Rob Dunn catching their fish using 4" worms about 10ft off the bank targeting 7 to 8 ft of water. Third went to Steve Williams & Ronnie Lentz with just under 11lbs using Senkos and flukes in the lily pads; they also took Big Fish Honors with a 5.63lber.
