Tournament Report
by Mike Schneider

   Another SPAWN tournament!

Temperatures were in the upper 70's and a little breezy, but otherwise a very nice day to be fishing – finally!!! There were 12 teams
participating, consisting of 23 anglers in all.

It seemed as if you weren’t sight fishing, you weren’t catching fish. There were no reports from the other anglers who brought in fish that    weren’t bed fishing and most of the beds on Branch had been picked cleaner than a chicken bone at a homeless shelter. Anglers had    to look hard to find fish and when they did, the fish didn’t easily cooperate no matter what was thrown at them.

The order of finish was the same in this tournament as in the last; the “Three Evil Spawn Catching Empires,” of Sam North & Russ Hall,    Mike Cherry & Rob Uzzle and Keith Lynch. Sam & Russ managed little more than 17lbs, Rob & Mike brought in just less than 17lbs    and Keith had a little over 15lbs to grab 3rd Place. Keith has placed 3rd in every event so far this year with Rule 9. Russ Hall & Sam    North also took Big Fish Honors for this tournament as well, going 4lbs 9oz.

Of the 12 teams, only 4 brought in limits of fish and there were 38 fish brought in all together; with 2 fishing brought in dead (5 total for    the year). The tournaments total weight went 106.52lbs; averaging 2.80lbs per fish.
