Tournament Report by Bob Bullen
The day started out nice; about an hour into the tournament it started to rain. Fortunately for the Anglers, the rain and clouds blew over creating Blue Bird skies, light winds with temps in the low 80’s. Water Temps started off at 69-degrees and ended up around 83-degrees by the time the tournament came to an end. Several teams brought in sacks going over 10lbs, which is a good deal for Lake Whitehurst. The winning weight actually went better than 15lbs brought in by Kenny Boulier & John Cook. The Lunker of the day went to the team of Huck Palmatier & Walt DeGraaf. Most of the better fish were coaxed into biting Senko type lures as well as creature baits. Spinnerbaits, Cranks & other soft plastics accounted for the other fish to fill out the Anglers wells. All those anglers bringing in 5 fish limits pretty much culled all day long.
