BOOT'LEGG EVENT
Beaver Dam Swamp Reservoir
30 November 2005

Tournament Report
by Neal Robinson

This was the final Boot’Legg Tournament Event of the 2005 season. The morning weather was actually nice; brisk, but nice and by late    morning to later in the afternoon, it warmed up real nice. Water temps ranged from about 54- to 57-degrees throughout the day. Being    the last event in the area, the Trail figured that there would be a nice turnout; unfortunately there were only 9 teams that showed up (17    Anglers).

There were plenty of fish caught today, but they were all the same size those trying to upgrade their sacks difficult.

Primary Pattern/Technique: Most anglers caught fish on a variety of lures, but the primary technique was to use something slow. Most    reports came in of anglers using some type of plastics; ranging from 4” to 7” finesse worms. Also, there were several anglers catching    fish on Senko type lures. The pattern mainly used was to fish grass ledges and creek channels.

One of the hottest sticks on the Peninsula would be the team of Drew Brown & Wayne Garrett, who took 1st Place on this day. They    also took Big Fish with a 5lber. There have been a lot of Back-To-Back fashions and this event has been no different for Richard    Thurston, who took 2nd once again here at Beaver Dam. This doesn’t include his recent Little Creek Angler Classic win. Placing in 3rd    is the father & son team of Orece & Neal Robinson. In 4th was Tim Langdon & Cal Gilliam and in 5th Place were Sam North & Brad    Webb.

   Thanks:
Once again, the Boot’Legg Legg Trail would like to thank those who participated in our last event here at Beaver Dam.

   IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Because of the poor showing at Beaver Dam, more than likely, this is going to be the Trails final event here. All other tournaments    will be held on the Southside (Suffolk Lakes), due to better participation. This last tournament had tied for our lowest showing for    2005 with only 9 boats; 17 Anglers in this event and 18 in the earlier. On average, there were only 13 teams participating here on    Beaver Dam; a far cry short of our anticipations. It’s not that the Trail does not want to have tournaments on Beaver Dam, it just    doesn’t meet our expectations. The Trail has always followed their beliefs; give the anglers what they want and to do what is best for    the Trail. Right now, the numbers show where and what the anglers want and the Trail believes that we are going to cut our ties for    the betterment of the Trail and the anglers who support the it by participation.
