Tournament Report by Neal Robinson
Outside of the fast changing Barometric Pressure coming through the area, possibly due to the hurricane (Ophelia) lingering out in the    Atlantic, the weather was nice. It was a bit cool in the morning, but it warmed up nicely. Later in the day, the wind picked up and started    gusting at times, making it tough to handle the boat. Our last tournament winners were Tim Langdon & Todd Thompson, however, due    to them running a bit late, we allowed the Runner-Ups, John “Rebel” Plyler & Jerry Patterson to draw the lake today…Lake Cohoon. It    has been a few tournaments, but this event managed 22 teams (38 Anglers); back in the saddle for a 5 place payout.    Howmet Bassmasters fished this very lake the day before and the results were terrible. Very few fish were caught, there were no limits    brought in and the weights were low; hopes weren’t flying too high today, but someone has to win. Outside of the 1st & 2nd spots, there    really wasn’t a good pattern going; also those same patterns used the same technique from what was heard, using a C-Rig mainly and    other lures in the mix. The pattern used was fishing secondary points, which produced numbers of fish, but nothing much for size.    Short of 12lbs, Mark Barnes & Doug Roberts took 1st Place and Lunker for the day. In 2nd Place, Rob Frame & Cab Beedie, followed    closely behind by James Williams & Gene North. Placing in 4th was Tim Langdon & Todd Thompson and finishing in the 5th spot was    the team of Bob Bullen & Tim Ackal.    On tough days where limits are hard to come by, they carry dividends in these events. Of the 22 boats, there were only 5 limits brought    to the scales, 4 of those limits were in the Top 5 spot. There were 43 fish weighed in, all of which tipped the tournament total weight to    a mere 77.28lbs.
