BOOT'LEGG EVENT
Lake Prince
03 August 2008

Tournament Report
by Lenny Shane

Today's turnout was impressive with 19 teams showing. Last events winners, James Williams & Gene North drew Lake Prince for todays event.

Seems like the #8 is becoming popular the past few tournaments; the past 3 tournaments, to include this one, have each brought in only 8 limits. Today's tournament had some nice fish brought in, with 8 of the fish going over 4lbs and the Team of Mike Crescini & Kevin Mills bringing in a whopping 7.42lb lunker. History has been broken and after more than 40 tournaments, Sam North & Russ Hall have finally removed the 500lb Gorilla off their backs and took a 1st Place win with 15.52lbs. Sam has done some in-depth research and found that James isn't only Guamainian/Chamoran, but he also has some Indian in him from down there in Florida. His name James is a Florida Indian word for "Wins-A-Lot"; interesting. Although he may win a lot, Sam & Russ ensured today, that "Wins-A-Lot" Williams & Gene North were only worthy of a 2nd Place finish; just scatting by them by .08lbs; it's hard to keep these two out of the money. Our 3rd Place finisher, goes to Tournament Director, Lenny Shane, 4th Place was Jerry Patterson & Bill Sparrow and in 5th Place we have Parish Malone & Tony Thompson. Both Lenny Shane & Parish Malone won the $25 and $10 BPS Gift Cards.

MORE STORIES: Lenny Shane mentioned, "...I caught and lost over 15 bass today, but couldn't hook anything within 3lbs." Mike & Kevin had a nice sack at 11.18lbs, but only had 3 fish in the day and could not get just 2 more bites. Parish & Tony had 2 fish going over 4lbs, but had 3 small fish. Fortunately, for Sam & Russ, "Rabbit" managed to catch a 3lber, which was enough to cull out a 2lber in the well in about the last 15 minutes, which allowed them to surpass James & Gene at the weigh in. "Even though there were some decent fish caught, for most it was a grind fest. What a day, what a tournament," according to Lenny.

Lenny Shane and Company would like to "THANK" everyone for making for such an excellent day on the water and their participation.
