Tournament Report

Tournament #7 for the Boot’Legg Trail had probably one of the smallest turnouts of some time with a small field of 14 teams participating (23 Anglers).  The small turnout may be due to the 3 day weekend for the Memorial Holiday, but regardless you will always have the 'Die Hard' anglers participating.  Last tournament winners, James Williams & Gene North pulled the lake for the day – Western Branch. 

Patterns – Spawn / Post-Spawn Techniques – Jigs, Plastics & Topwater.  There wasn't much to report other than most anglers made efforts to locate the few spawning fish around and/or targeted bass guarding fry if they could locate them.  Anglers had plenty of fish to go around, since most teams brought in limits (11) and no team blanked.  The tournament brought in a total of 64 fish, for a tournament total weight of 181.92lbs of fish.

The Tournament winners go out to Drew Brown & Wayne Garrett, who brought in a monster sack of nearly 21lbs of fish.  Coming in 2nd was Sam North & Russ Hall, who brought in nearly 19lbs today.  Last weeks winner James Williams & Gene North who placed 3rd had a nice sack of 18lbs and also brought in the days "Big Fish," while Gary Kinsey (fishing solo) brought in a hefty 17lbs; enough to take the 4th place spot and had a 6lber anchoring his load.  Brad Webb & Danny Ferk showed up today and rounded out the Top 5, toting in 16lbs of their own.
