Mike Howie
Mike Howie is March’s Angler of the Month. Mike is a 57 year old Norfolk native and resident who has been married to his wife Paula for 17 years. Mike is employed by the city of Portsmouth as a printer for the public school system. Mike has been a Bass Jon’s member since 2007 and in that time has garnered a reputation as someone you want in the back of the boat on tournament day, both as a great fisherman and someone who you want to hang out with all day for a nice day of fishing. In his spare time Mike enjoys playing the guitar, blue-grass music, fishing for smallmouth bass in Wisconsin, and catching bass in the private side of Lake Whitehurst.
When asked about his experience with the club, Mike had this to say, “In local fishing circles Bass-Jons members are well known for their competitive abilities. They are also well known as a collective source of valuable fishing information. What I know them for is their unlimited kindness, patience, generosity and greatness of heart.”
As always this Angler of the Month is bestowed on individuals who portray the values on which Bass-Jon’s the club and web site are founded, "Share the Knowledge". Mike is a valuable member of the club. He is always a threat on the water and one to watch whatever boat he gets in as a threat to win. We hope to have him in the club for years to come. Congratulations on your selection of Angler of the Month.
