It was a beautiful day on the water, temps in the high sixties, no wind to speak of and water temps in the low fifties. Bluebird skies and high pressure made fishing difficult. However it didn’t prove a problem for Bill Saunders and Dave Evans who caught fish all day long on spinner baits and took home 1st place honors with an impressive 16.04 lbs. The next closest team was Bob Bullen and Jerry Patterson with 9.12 lbs. 1st and 2nd place were the only teams that had a five fish limits and were culling during the day. Bill and Dave said all their fish came off spinner baits, Bob & Jerry took their fish on worms. Senkos and crank bait. Full set of photos on the Tourney results page.

The last tourney of the season before the classic. It was cold; raining most of the day and the wind was whipping something awful on the water. We only had six teams for this event. Huck and Kenny managed to find five fish and take 1st place, Jim and Jerry also found five fish and Lunker with a 3 lb kicker. It was tough bite to say the least. Bass-Jon’s also drew the lake for their classic event. The Lake pull by our 2008 Angler of the Year Jim Carlson was Lake Smith to be held on 1 Nov 2008.

Nice day on the water, air temps 75, water temp started off 67 and made it to 73, slight breeze. Plenty of fish to to catch just a lot of small ones, Jerry found the ticket on top water and nailed 1st palce. Way to go Jerry first you win Boot'Legg last week and now Bass-Jon's he's on a roll.

Wow what a difference a week makes. Cool temperatures in the low 70’s, wind 10 to 20 knots out of the north. Water temp 72 degrees, and cloudy skies. Nice and comfortable day of the water. The fish were chewing just couldn’t find the big ones. Soft plastics, spinner baits and jerk baits took most fish. See all of tourney pictures on Tourney Results page.

Bass'n-9 Lake Cohoon & Meade Tourney Results - 24 Aug 08

The fifth annual Bass’n-9 Tourney was conducted on Lake Cohoon and Meade. The club vs club tourney also invited Howmet to participate this year. The results were close. However the final total was 78.44 lbs to 77.41 lbs and Bass-Jon’s took home the honors for the 2008 event. Rick & Richard Burton of Bass-Jon’s took 1st place and James Osby of Rule-9 had Lunker with a 4.24 lb fish. The tourney was followed by a cook out and some good times talking trash. We would like to thank Rob Dunn from Rule-9 who manned the grill, and Mike from the fishing station. Next years event will be hosting by Rule-9, and date and location TBD.

- What a great day, cooler temps, light winds, and partly cloudy skies. However it was a tough bite for most anglers, small fish and no real pattern to speak of, the Lunker of the day a 4.02 lb was caught on a June-bug worm. Most of the reports had the fish taken on soft plastics.

It was a tough day for most. Hot weather, light winds, water temp in the mid 80’s. Everyone had a different story to tell how they caught their fish. Most were caught on soft plastics and a few on top water.

Great day on the water, temps in the eighties, however the humidity was down and light winds made for an enjoyable day. The water temp was about 82 degrees. Everyone had a good time catching fish. Flukes and Senkos seem to rule the day with the big fish of the day. Almost all the fish were taken on soft plastics and few on top water. Jerry and Joe shared Big Fish honors for the day with each bringing in a 5.02 lb Hawg.

Wow, it was hot!! The temps reached 99 degrees, water temps around 83 degrees, wind blowing around 10 knots. All boats brought a limit to the scales, plenty of fish no real size. Patterns, any kind of soft plastic, color it ran the rainbow so getting a pattern hard to say.

The weather was a bit cooler in the morning. It grew warmer throughout the day, light winds and temps in the mid eighties made fishing enjoyable. The water temp started off at 82 degrees and ended up a few degrees higher by days end. Everyone found fish, they seem too be biting on anything and everything.
